About Darin Sorley
Darin brings more than three decades of professional musical and administrative experience to Signature Sounds Contracting, LLC. His career uniquely bridges performance, craftsmanship, and arts leadership — giving him a deep understanding of both the musicians on stage and the clients they serve.
His professional freelance horn playing career spans more than 30 years, including 18 seasons as Principal Horn of the Richmond (IN) Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and the Evansville Philharmonic, where he served two years as Principal Horn, in addition to numerous regional orchestras.
Darin’s versatility has extended beyond the symphonic stage to touring productions of Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Little Mermaid. He has also performed alongside internationally recognized artists including Marie Osmond, The Who, The Moody Blues, Luciano Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Barry Manilow, and Amy Grant, collaborating with countless distinguished classical soloists and conductors throughout his career. These experiences have shaped his high standards for professionalism, preparation, and artistic excellence.
As the owner of Sorley Horns, LLC, Darin designed and built custom French horns for professional players around the world, with instruments now in use throughout the United States, Australia, Poland, Germany, and Turkey. Managing an international client base required precision, clear communication, financial stewardship, and a commitment to delivering specialized artistic products at the highest level.
He currently serves as Managing Director of Indianapolis Early Music, overseeing artistic planning, production logistics, budgeting, marketing strategy, and donor development for its internationally recognized summer festival in downtown Indianapolis. In addition, as Personnel Manager of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, he coordinates musician hiring, scheduling, and communication for a large roster of contracted players.
Together, these experiences form the foundation of Signature Sounds Contracting, LLC — combining artistic credibility, operational leadership, and a deep understanding of musicians’ needs to create seamless, high-quality musical engagements for both clients and artists.
